cyber style

In  the German literature café Kafé KrümelKram you will find a special exhibit. Moewe Winkler shows on two floors art installations. In the background robot voices are reading lyrics. The ground floor is covered in red and the first floor is in a relaxing beige. The vernissage of Immer On (always online) was yesterday. See more pictures on the blog of the literature goup Brennende Buchstaben or make a trip to the  Galerie am Kafé KrümelKram.

industrial beauty

photos taken by FirleFanz Roxley

Oslar Petroleum, the industrial hangout, is a grunge styled area with abandoned manufactures, empty barrels on the ground, industrial workshops and a lot of rust and bricks. Visit the location for taking snapshots or meeting with friends. There is also a group offering events but in the recent notices are no upcoming events to find. Maybe they work on it.

and LEA again

Quan Lavender has blogged about Oberon Onmura, artist exhibiting on LEA 20. I - lucky me - have taken the shots for Quan´s Travelogues. Read the complete article on her blog and make a visit on LEA 20. This short video shows Oberon Onmura on LEA 1 some months ago.

Chilbo is a relaxing and quiet place to hang around and meet with friends. It has a little duckpond, a café with a bowling lane, a public library and a gallery. Wayne Alsop has invited me to show some of my pictures there and I have picked some which I think they could fit to the surroundings - lanscapes, nature and still lifes. No new art work but suitable to the place. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Chilbo/143/42/97

underwater art in the sky

AeoNik McMaho "Seeigel"

Do you know the LEA sims? Well, who does not? So much written about them, so much pictures on blogs, even on mine. But today I went to the LEA sandbox and it is worth to be seen, too. This sandbox is special. Not that kind of sandbox with strange avatars testing weapons or 50 m penisses. Artists are allowed to leave their art work for 2 weeks before the staff clean the place. On the snapshots you can see a colour changing sea urchin made by the German artist AeoNik McMaho. His self-description says: "I´m not an artist, I´m a builder." Who cares? His art work seems wonderful to me.

Ub Yifu

Teleport to Ub Yifu´s many art stations

Tesseract 1

Mister Jack
Ub Yifu`s exhibition is located in the Lost Town La cittá perdutta. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Land%20of%20Glory/177/228/22  The town itself is also really worth to be visited. A rusted environment with a lot of metal. He is presenting his work in a suitable surrounding. You can take a walk through his creations - some are really huge!

LEA 16, showing Rod Mandel´s art installations, fireworks in the background

I have visited LEA 16 to take shots for Quan´s Travelogues. The installation is really worth to be seen. Read the blogposting about the artist on Quan Lavender´s blog and see some of my pictures.

steampunk museum

The Joy of Steampunk Museum was my latest trip and I enjoyed it a lot. It is a tribute to the creators and builders of steampunk in SL.

Unforgotten: The grey houses made by Sextan Shepherd

An intelligent system of pipes nad tubes supports the town

Parking area for airships

Me - inspecting an airship from its inside

From outside it is a huge metal insect

A steampunk city without an underwater world? Unimaginable!

Me - taking the underwater tram

Diving deep into the town´s wet underground

Tram in the tube

This cute little robot helper has to do all the work! Not fair!

Talking to an iron maiden. She answers in the chat triggerd by your typing. Kind of artificial intelligence.

avatar´s brain

Do have avatars brains, feelings or kind of so called consciousness? Most people are convinced: No! But newest scientific findings let us know: There is a brain in an avatar´s head. It is brown and looks like shit.

Zombie area Geoffroi
A cute zombie girl walking on he road
You have to activate the group tag otherwise you will be ejected. The HUD and some weapons are freebies but you can buy better weapons in the stores.
Am I looking good? The zombie folks has to be shooten in mouselook - not so easy to handle camera and weapon but I am still exercising myself in blasting the undeads away

steampunk in black & white

Tequila Krovac has created some special steampunk related black and white SL photos for the Vintage Visions Gallery of Toulouse. Visit the art work and enjoy steampunk!

a very normal day

A morning in my bathroom: looking into the mirror shows me an image of an middle aged guy. And as every morning the guy in the mirror begins to die - blood running like tears from his eyes.

I decide to watch the news. The TV decides to talk to me. "Next we continue our political discussion about society. MY society. You are contaminating MY society. You are the most worthless person in the world. Kill yourself. NOW. Don´t continue contaminating MY society. Kill yourself. NOW."

Suddenly the floor in the living room disappears and I have to flee on a chair to not falling into the water.
I leave the TV and try to read the newspaper ...

... but it only wants to show me a single word.

It is time for my daily consultation hour.

Waiting for the nurse in the entrance I see the poster on the wall.
I do know that it is not a simple poster! It is talking to me, presenting a hidden message.
Walking to the doctor´s room ...

... I realised that the floor falls away and I have to hop from stone to stone.
Was that a story for a new horror movie? No. It is a project called "virtual hallucinations" initialised by researchers and students from the University of Queensland. It introduces visitors to the apperception of a schizophrenic mind. Entering the virtual clinic you are asked to wear a badge. It produces disturbing voices which tell you that you are a worthless person and lead you to dangerous activities like suicide. You can receive an impression how schizophrenic persons see the world.
